International transfers – Subscriber data is stored in the EU. If MailerLite or its sub-processors move data outside the UK/EEA (e.g. to the USA), they rely on the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or another mechanism recognised as providing adequate protection.

Transactional e-mail delivery with Maileroo

We send contact form messages through Maileroo Pty Ltd, Melbourne, Australia (“Maileroo”). Maileroo provides an SMTP relay / e-mail-API platform with infrastructure in Germany and the Netherlands that is certified as GDPR-compliant and secured to recognised industry standards

PurposeData itemsLegal basis (UK GDPR)
Deliver transaction-related e-mailsE-mail address, IP, message metadata (date/time, status, bounce info)Art 6 (1)(f) – our legitimate interest in running our website and fulfilling contracts

Analytics – Maileroo provides aggregated open/click statistics so we can monitor deliverability and improve our communications. These stats do not identify individual recipients.

International transfers – Although your message content is stored on EU servers, Maileroo’s support team (Australia) may access diagnostics if strictly necessary. Such remote access is governed by Standard Contractual Clauses plus the UK Addendum, ensuring a level of protection essentially equivalent to UK GDPR.

Your rights – You have the right to access, rectify or erase your data, restrict or object to its processing, and complain to the UK ICO.

We never sell or rent your e-mail address, and we do not engage in automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality. We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so. We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements. In some circumstances you can ask us to delete your data: see Request erasure below for further information. In some circumstances we may anonymise your personal data (so that it can no longer be associated with you) for research or statistical purposes in which case we may use this information indefinitely without further notice to you.
